Cause for Donation: Building Awareness and Support Networks for Boys

In Embu County, many boys face significant challenges such as mental health issues, substance abuse, and societal stigma. These struggles often go unnoticed due to a lack of awareness and understanding. The Boy Child Justice Alliance (BCJA) is leading the charge to change this narrative through community engagement initiatives, but we need your support to make a lasting impact.

The Problem

  • Lack of Awareness: Families and communities often misunderstand the challenges boys face, including mental health struggles, addiction, and rigid gender norms.
  • Social Stigma: Talking about boys’ issues is often taboo, discouraging them from seeking help.
  • Limited Support Systems: Many boys lack the guidance and resources they need to overcome challenges.
  • Breaking the Cycle: Without community understanding and involvement, the issues persist across generations.

Peer groups provide a safe space for boys to connect, share experiences, and receive guidance.
Peer Support Groups: Boys come together to discuss their challenges and find solutions collectively.
Mentorship Programs: Older boys and community leaders mentor younger boys, providing role models and emotional support.
Sustainability: We train facilitators and community leaders to ensure these networks continue to thrive long-term.
